Thank you for considering grading your cards with Grand Slam Sports Cards. Please review the information below that will guide you through the process and answer any questions that you may have.

WHY SHOULD I GRADE WITH GRAND SLAM SPORTS CARDS?

We understand your cards are valuable and you want to be able to trust the person that you have submit your cards for grading. Grand Slam Sports Cards is an Authorized SGC Dealer. SGC has strict standards they require prior to approving a dealer, including background checks on the company and person(s) of company. We have over 30 years of experience as we were one of the first who submitted cards back in 1992 for grading.

WHY SHOULD I SUBMIT CARDS THROUGH A DEALER RATHER THAN SUBMIT CARDS ON MY OWN TO SGC?

You certainly have the option of submitting directly to SGC, but there are many benefits you will receive by submitting directly with Grand Slam Sports Cards. Benefits include:

  • You will receive better pricing for your card grading due to the volume discount Grand Slam Sports Card receives.
  • Grand Slam Sports Cards has their own dedicated SGC representative they can call to see status of orders or if needed, expedite orders that are not moving through the SGC cycle of grading.
  • Grand Slam Sports Cards ships all orders overnight Express mail, which we absorb the cost, netting you free shipping.
  • Having over 30 years of experience submitting cards, we can offer you the option to review your cards prior to sending in for grading, potentially saving you hundreds of dollars.

  • All cards are submitted with no “qualifiers” and no “minimum grade” unless requested by customer. As mentioned, all orders are submitted express over night and are fully insured and covered.
  • Once the orders are sent, all submission numbers are entered into the SGC update spreadsheet. Copies of the submission forms are made and kept for our records.

HOW DO I FILL OUT THE SUBMISSION FORM?

Please take the time to complete the submission form as complete as possible. Having the correct information on the form helps us when entering the cards into the SGC system. If you are unsure what the card is, try to research one that already is graded by SGC and use the information listed on the SGC holder. Here are some additional tips to consider:

  • Every different type of order you are submitting must have a separate order form. If you have cards to submit on a Value order and Regular or Express order, you need to fill out a form for each.
  • If you are submitting cards to have both the card and autograph graded, that needs to have a separate form as well.
  • Please organize the cards first by sport, then by year, then by brand name (not by player).
  • When sending in your cards, please keep the cards in the order listed on the sheet.
  • Brand Name example would be “Topps Chrome” or “Panini Prizm”.
  • Insert/Parallel Name example would be “Fireworks”, “Silver Prizm”, or “Gold Refractor”.
  • Card Number is the set number on the back of the card ex “24” or “ACH1”.
  • Serial Number is if the card has a specific print run such as 1/1. Not every card is serial numbered.
  • Declared Value is what the card is worth in its current raw state. Not what it would be worth in a certain grade. You can use eBay sold sales to see current value.
  • When you complete form, please remember to make a copy and take pictures of all the cards you are submitting. We cannot provide these things once you turn your form and cards in.

WHAT KIND OF CARDS CAN I SUBMIT FOR GRADING?

  • Base or Rookie Cards
  • Modern or Vintage Cards
  • Autograph Cards
  • Relic & Patch Cards
  • Rare Inserts
  • Cards that are Numbered
  • Short Prints

UPDATES ON YOUR GRADING ORDER

We understand that everyone is eager to have their cards back from SGC. Please keep in mind, that although at times we see our orders back prior to estimated completion times, there are times orders take longer than estimated times. Please keep the following in mind in regards to estimated completion times:

  • Turnaround times are based on business days, so weekends and holidays do not count. These time frames are estimated and not guaranteed. SGC does things at their own discretion and there is no rhyme or reason to why some orders, even at the same grading level, may get done faster than others.
  • The estimated time begins once SGC enters the orders into their system, which sometimes takes up to a week to enter.

If you have any additional questions, please send us a message over here.
